Staff Management SMX is seeking a Tool and Die Maker located in Providence, RI. This is an all shift, direct hire position with great benefits. Perks & Benefits Weekly paychecks Direct Deposit or Cash Card pay options Medical / Dental Insurance 401k Paid Time Off Employment Type & Shifts Direct Hire All Shifts Job Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on existing stamping tools. Ensure preventative maintenance is performed according to PM schedule. If no PM schedule exists work with the Toolroom Lead person to develop one. Work with Engineering & Manufacturing to analyze manufacturing / tooling problems, formulate solutions, and make appropriate modifications / repairs as required. Present recommendations for tooling improvements to the Toolroom Lead person. Assist pressroom personnel by helping setup or reset tooling in the Stamping presses. Use all applicable documentation to ensure proper press setup. Provide technical support & guidance to the manufacturing team. Monitor inventory levels of spare part components & tool room supplies. Notify Toolroom Lead person and/or order through the established PO Req. System. Coordinate with Maintenance personnel for the timely completion of repairs. Monitor department for safety and housekeeping, correcting deficiencies when possible and/or notifying the appropriate personnel for resolution. Accurately document work in the Tool Room Die, Maintenance, & Repair System & the Tool Book. Follow Company policies and procedures as defined in the Interplex Employee Manual. Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP's certification and QMS. Follow Company Safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Handle and dispose of all chemicals per the applicable MSDS and IEP procedure. Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance. Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required. Other duties as assigned. Associate Requirements HS Diploma or GED Background Check Drug Test Must be at least 18 years old The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $34.00 - $42.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
