Works with Community Outreach Director to plan and operate programs for member teens ages 13-17.
Responsible for:
the management and supervision of the day to day operations of programming, ensuring programming quality, development of future programs, supervision of staff, and communication between programs, families, and schools.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership Work with the Community Outreach Director to establish programs, activities, and services that prepare teens for success, with a focus on improving academic achievement, social and emotional learning, and career exploration among participants.
Ensures a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
Supports project staff for the program including coordinating staff schedules, holding regular staff meetings, observing classes and monitoring work performance.
Ensure that all EPBGC child and site safety policies are followed:
including but not limited to maintaining proper staff to child ratios, maintaining child records and ensuring all required staffing training and paperwork is completed.
Assist in recruiting and hiring staff as needed.
Evaluation Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
Works with Community Outreach Director to analyze data for continuous program improvement Communication Communicate with children, families and school personnel about programs and schedules Send out program e-newsletters at least monthly Partnership Development Acts as a liaison with community partners, school staff, students and other stakeholders, including but not limited to attending faculty meetings when invited, meeting with teachers during their planning times, attending PTO meetings as needed, and maintaining communications with parents via regular newsletters/updates.
ADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
May be required to drive a Club van.
Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with school faculty, school staff, Club staff and volunteers to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information.
Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline advise, and counsel.
External:
Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, and member's parents to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Education/Social Service major preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience with teens (ages 12-18) required.
Previous work experience in afterschool and/or childcare programming preferred.
Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
Ability to effectively deal with members.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Good leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
